Power boost with better looks and dynamics

Audi's first real crossover SUV, the new Q7, is different enough. Much more SUV-like than the brand's first crossover venture, the rather elevated A6-Avant, the Allroad quattro of the late nineties.

But no matter how distinguished is the new Q7, sharing noble genes with its Porsche Cayenne and VW Touareg cousins, the fact remains that you can still make it even more... distinguished.

That's exactly what the brand with the sword – nothelle is proposing, an Audi Q7 with:

- More power, with up to 300 bhp for the 3.0 V6 TDI, or 500 bhp with a supercharger kit for the 4.2 V8, 

- Stronger personality  with sporty lifestyle look, complete wheel sets nothelle “NOVEDRA IX SPORT” in 22 inch design,

- Better dynamics, with an aerodynamics kit and electronically lowered suspension.

For over 38 years, the name nothelle has been known for its passion for engineering and its tuning products, designed for VW Group's luxury brand Audi, and meeting the highest standards.

And here comes now the Q7, the latest addition to the Audi family. So, the nothelle brand from Ratingen, Germany, had to do something about it. Something really different, enhancing it both visually and in terms of power and dynamism.

Target number one was to lend the Q7 a sharper sporty lifestyle look, without detracting from its off-road capabilities.

In other words, the nothelle Q7 is not a yuppie vehicle, but one that retains its all-round abilities. A visit to a flashy restaurant? High-speed motorway driving? Swift uphill climbing on twisty roads? Driving on rough terrain? The nothelle Q7 masters all of these disciplines, while cutting a fine figure at the same time.

The external design modifications of the Q7 come first from a sporty and elegant body-styling kit, which can be fitted at any Audi dealer. It includes a lift-reducing front spoiler, side sills, an entirely new rear apron, wheel arch extensions and a roof spoiler for enhanced stability at high speeds.

Under the wheel arch extensions come nothelle’s own brand of wheel rim from the Novedra series, the “NOVEDRA IX SPORT” in king-size format 10.0 x 22 inch, with tyres from the technology partner KUMHO in the dimensions 295/30-22.

The Q7 can also be fitted with “NOVEDRA IX SPORT black edition” and “NOVEDRA IX SPORT brilliance edition” rims, for an even more exclusive look.

With the additional power comes an electronically lowered suspension, while the braking performance of this 2.3 tonne vehicle is also enhanced by the nothelle brake kit.

Inside, nothelle offers numerous modifications, such as a stylish leather interior suite, which accentuates the vehicle's premium feel, or a business office with ultra-modern multimedia components.

Now comes the... "operating system", or the engine if you prefer.

The Q7 initially starts out with two engines, namely a large three litre turbo diesel, the 3.0 V6 TDI with 500 Nm torque (1750-2750 rpm) and 171 kW (233 bhp/ 4000 rpm), in addition to the large 4.2 litre V8 petrol engine with 257 kW (350 bhp/ 6800 rpm) and 440 Nm/ 3500 rmp.

With a kerb weight of 2.3 tonnes, nothelle engineers believe that in sports terminology, it... can do better.

Consequently, nothelle boosts the power of both engines.

Thanks to chip fine-tuning or the installation of the N TRONIC BOX©, the 3.0 TDI generates an impressive 300 bhp (28.75 percent more than the standard version) with a 20-percent torque boost, to 600 Nm at 2,500 rpm.

The price for these power enhancements are between 1,100 (chip fine-tuning) and 1,500 euros (N TRONIC BOX), with a two-year warranty.

Generally, nothelle offers three forms of power enhancements with differing characteristics.

- First comes the N TRONIC BOX©, the intelligent powerbox for Diesel-engines. It is an additional ECU, which provides a significant but not excessive power boost.

- A similar output of power comes from the chiptuning variant LEADERCHIP©, designed for more controlled power. The car releases its full potential but stays always superior with showing constant running smoothness. On balanced values, the engine now offers a significantly improved torque and more power. It’s the diplomate among the tuning-chips with untamed aplomb.

- As a third choice nothelle offers the BULLCHIP©, a power increase for drivers with frank sporty ambitions. It is caracterised by a full release of power, breathtaking torque and incredible acceleration.

All power enhancements are also available for vehicles with diesel particulate filters, and nothelle pays particular attention to ensuring that the latest exhaust emission standards are observed.

In the case of the petrol variant, too, nothelle does not hold back. For the 4.2 V8, the Ratingen tuning specialist developed a supercharger kit, which elicits up to 500 bhp of sheer power from this direct injection engine (42.8% more power).

Power and image remain incomplete without the appropriate... sound, of course. That's where nothelle replaces  the standard-fitted silencer with its own sonorous 4-pipe-ended rear silencer. Another option offers the replacement of the entire exhaust system, thereby allowing the Q7 to announce its newly gained power... in its very own terms.
