New Maserati GranCabrio: deliveries start in the spring.

7 Sep. 2009 - For the first time in its history, Maserati will present a four-seater convertible at the 2009 IAA Frankfurt Motor Show (public days: 17-27 September 2009).

Making its world wide debut at Frankfurt, the GranCabrio completes the Italian brand's product line-up that now consists of three families of models: Quattroporte, GranTurismo, GranCabrio.

The Pininfarina designed GranCabrio extends the Maserati tradition in open-top cars, joining models such as the 1950 A6G Frua Spyder, 1960 3500GT Vignale Spyder, 1964 Mistral Spyder, 1968 Ghibli Spyder and 2001 Spyder designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, the car that marked Maserati’s return to the United States.

Maserati says the GranCabrio, which is the sister-model of the GranTurismo coupé, will be marketed from next winter (deliveries start the following spring) with a canvas-made roof, in the Maserati tradition, and the 4.7 litre V8 engine (Ferrari origin), delivering 323 kW (433 bhp, 439 hp).
